6 Ways to Jump-Start Your Bridal Beauty Routine

You’ve just been engaged – that means it’s time to step up your daily beauty routine. Take these tips from the pros to look fabulous in preparation for your wedding.

1. Schedule Weekly Manicurespexels-photo-188691

As soon as you get engaged, everyone is going to ask to see the ring. Keep those nails primed by getting weekly manicures and pedicures. This is your chance to experiment with colors (such as pinks and mauves), and to form a bond with your manicurist. Make sure to thoroughly inspect your nail bed.

Treat Yourself: Gel manicures use UV technology for a harder and smoother finished nail. They’re a bit pricier but can last up to twice as long as a traditional manicure.

2. Teeth Whitening.

If you’re into natural, harm-free methods – check out oil pulling – you can clear up plaque and kill your mouth bacteria by swishing coconut oil. For the traditionalists in the audience, you can always get your teeth professionally whitened. Just make sure that you complete the whitening several months in advance

3. Healthy Eating

Want to stay slim for your wedding day? Do yourself a favor and avoid sugar, sodium, and all manner of processed foods. That includes alcohol, which in addition to “empty” calories (devoid of nutritional value), those who imbibe too often also have a tendency to eat more when tipsy.

4. Stay in Shape

Working out with regularity will ensure a beautiful body on your wedding day. “Working out will help tighten and firm your body while also detoxing your skin,” Kashuk says. A good workout gives you a boost of energy, helps you lose weight and makes you feel happier (yay endorphins!)

5. Lift Weights

Contrary to popular myth, lifting weights will not actually make you bulky. Some simple dumbbell exercises will make the difference between toned arms and the little bit of arm fat that’s so hard to shake. Train with a personal trainer over a workout video; each workout will be different and customized to your unique needs.

6. Get a Smooth Face

A primer is a great place to start. Use it daily to achieve a smooth surface foundation for use all day. Or try a hydrating facial serum. Apply it daily before your makeup for softer and smoother skin.
